The new hostel take over has begun.. Hello this is the person normally known as Jarathorn, telling all of you that John a good friend of mine unfortunately has left us, but the good news is he gave me his site!!! so in honor of him and the name he gave it, this will become my black smith, or forge work page, I have been smithing for a little while, unfortunately I had to teach myself through trial and error, and using any book I could find on the subject. By teaching myself, I have accumulated a lot of stuff to post, some good, and some not so good... but I will let you guys be the judge of that...

Hey thanks for the add. BTW keep pounding hot metal. Being self taught seems to be the only way we get to learn our trade anymore. Your skill will improve and so will your speed. Everything gets easier with practice!

Thank you. Indeed the trade of black smithing is seeming harder and harder to get tools and materials to do. Yet I have been finding more and more people wanting to learn. Vary odd... Thank you for the advice, I plan to keep at it!!

Hi, I'm really interested in blade smithing

In fact I tried twice to make a sword,
and it's cool to see people on DA actually making swords!
is there some sort of community of sword smithing on DA?

I don't know of any communities devoted to smithing unfortunately... But if one was created I am sure many people would join. I am a member of *ArtisanCraft and that is a vary active crafter club.

I am glad to hear you tried to make a sword. If you would like some help in smithing I am a black smith, and I would love to help you. send me a note asking anything that you would like to know.
